My name is Makayla Lockard. In December 2023, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from TCU with a B.A. in Writing and a Communication Studies minor. In my classes, I learned a variety of writing styles that I use in my current role.

 

During college, I worked as a Media Assistant Intern for the Burnett School of Medicine where I gained valuable experience in social media marketing, writing articles, communicating with students and professionals, and taking high-quality photos and videos.

 

Since college, I have been working as a full-time Social Media Marketing and Communications Coordinator for TCU's Center for Real Estate. I design social media posts, email invitations, flyers, Resume Books, and Newsletters. Additionally, I take photos and videos for the Center using my camera and phone. In this position, I have the opportunity to connect with students, board members, faculty, staff, and alumni through our board meetings and Real Estate Club events.

 

Overtime, I have grown the Center’s social media platforms and created quality content that stands out against competitors. 

 

I am a hardworking and creative individual focused on exceeding expectations. Since I make work a priority, I submit my assignments on or before deadline to ensure that there is extra time for feedback. Additionally, I have excellent verbal and written communication skills that I gained through my college and work experiences.

 

TCU has provided me with the skills to succeed in current and future positions.
